Technical product data is harder

In industry and wholesale, product data is often technical: dimensions, material, power, threads and tolerances, plus data sheets, manuals and certificates. It comes from many suppliers, in different formats and units, and has to get into the business system and often on to a B2B portal or webshop.

Business systems are rarely built to keep that kind of data structured and up to date. That is where Ecombooster comes in.

Attributes from free text, in the same units

Ecombooster extracts technical details from supplier descriptions as structured attributes, with rules or with AI, and converts units so that "3 kW" and "3000 W" become the same thing. Values that mean the same but are written differently, such as "10 kg" and "10000 g", are found and merged.

Each product type can set which attributes are required, recommended or optional, and you can see at once which products are missing something. Read more about PIM systems.

Data sheets and documents on the product

Data sheets, manuals and other attached files are gathered on the product and travel with it when the data is sent on. Documents the supplier stops publishing are flagged, so you can see when the paperwork is no longer current.

Customer prices, components and several suppliers

  • Customer prices and agreements. Customer groups, contract prices and tiered discounts are calculated automatically from purchase prices. See B2B customer pricing.
  • Composite products. Kits and bundles built from components, with price and stock following the components. See composite products.
  • Several suppliers per item. Compare purchase price, stock and lead time between suppliers for the same item, and let the best source lead. See supplier integration.

How the data reaches the business system

How the integration is built depends on the business system. If the system has an API, data can be sent there directly. Otherwise it is delivered as a file, in Excel or CSV, in the format the system can import. Ecombooster also has an open, documented REST API that the business system or an integrator can fetch data from.

We will work out together which route suits you. Get in touch and tell us which business system you use.

Who is it for?

Ecombooster suits wholesalers and industrial companies that buy from many suppliers, handle technical product data and want their business system to have complete, current information without manual entry.

If you manufacture yourselves and create all product data in-house, or have only a few suppliers, the need is smaller.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need an online store to use Ecombooster?

No. Ecombooster can feed your business system or B2B portal without any webshop.

Which business systems does it work with?

It depends on how the system can import data. Via API or file (Excel or CSV) it can connect to most business systems. Contact us and we will go through your system.

Does Ecombooster replace our business system?

No. The business system keeps handling orders, finance and production. Ecombooster takes care of the product data and prices the business system needs. Read more in Ecombooster compared with ERP systems.

Can we handle customer-specific prices?

Yes. Customer groups, contract prices and tiered discounts are calculated automatically from purchase prices.

What does it cost?

Ecombooster has a free tier to start with and is then priced to your needs. An integration with your business system is quoted based on what the system supports. See pricing.
